Strength Training Equipment Essentials

syattfitnesslogo

Have you ever wondered what equipment a good gym should have in stock?

Do you know what training tools will be most beneficial in the process of increasing strength and improving performance?

I recently had a teleconference with Kyle Bohannon from The Art of Physical Fitness in which we spoke about the essentials of strength training equipment.

I covered the topic from a Strength/Powerlifting perspective regarding what to look for when signing up for a new gym membership. Kyle, on the other hand, spoke about how to set up a home gym with specific recommendations based on budget restrictions.

I think we both dished out a bunch of great ideas and hopefully you’ll take away some useful information from the discussion.

I hope you enjoy listening and, as always, if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please leave them in the comments section below.

Never Minimal. Never Maximal. Always Optimal.

Great segment! Would def be interested in hearing alternatives to the GHR or 45-degree back extension besides poor man’s GHRs. Also, re straps. When do you recommend using them besides the lifts you mentioned? Is it okay to use them on hanging leg raises for example or will this adversely affect grip strength? Thanks!
